WE ARE NOT HIRING AN ORDINARY MARKETING PERSON.
We are hiring someone to become the driving force behind how our companies are seen, how our relationships are built, how our leads are generated, and ultimately how our businesses grow.
Advus Builders is seeking an exceptionally driven, experienced, and results-oriented Director of Sales, Marketing & Brand Development to represent our expanding family of companies.
This is not simply a social media position. This is a highly demanding, hands-on leadership opportunity combining sales, marketing, content production, business development, public relations, and brand representation.
Our businesses operate across luxury custom homebuilding, custom cabinetry and fine woodworking, roofing, concrete flatwork, and other specialty construction services. We have ambitious plans for continued growth through strategic partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions.
Each business has its own customers, brand identity, and sales objectives. We need one exceptional individual capable of developing opportunities, increasing visibility, and producing measurable growth across the entire organization.
We want a creator. A salesperson. A relationship builder. A strategist. A public personality. A relentless executor.
Someone who can visit a construction site in the morning, film engaging content before lunch, manage advertising campaigns in the afternoon, respond to qualified leads throughout the day, and confidently represent our businesses at an evening networking event.
Someone who understands that successful marketing isn't simply about looking good online.
It's about generating business.
For the right individual, this opportunity offers significant independence, direct access to executive leadership, outstanding earning potential, and the chance to grow with an expanding organization.
YOUR MISSION
Your primary responsibility is to increase brand visibility, establish meaningful relationships, generate qualified sales opportunities, and support measurable revenue growth for every company within our organization.
You will take ownership of marketing from initial strategy through execution, lead generation, prospect qualification, sales handoff, and performance measurement.
Success will be measured by results—not simply activity.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. SALES DEVELOPMENT & LEAD GENERATION
Generating qualified business opportunities is the most important responsibility of this position.
Develop proactive lead-generation strategies for all companies.
Generate opportunities for luxury custom homes, cabinetry, roofing, concrete flatwork, and future businesses.
Identify and pursue relationships with homeowners, builders, developers, architects, designers, real estate professionals, and commercial decision-makers.
Generate leads through advertising, social media, networking, referrals, and direct outreach.
Capture and promptly respond to inquiries from websites, social platforms, calls, messages, and events.
Qualify prospects by project type, location, budget, timeline, and overall fit.
Route opportunities to the appropriate salesperson, estimator, project manager, or company representative.
Maintain organized CRM records and follow-up processes.
Identify cross-selling opportunities between our companies.
Track leads, appointments, proposals, conversions, and business generated.
We expect someone who creates opportunities—not someone who waits for the phone to ring.
2. SOCIAL MEDIA & DAILY CONTENT PRODUCTION
You will manage the social media presence of our entire family of companies.
Manage Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
Develop individual social media strategies and content calendars for each business.
Create and publish engaging daily content, including videos, reels, stories, photographs, interviews, and project updates.
Travel to construction sites, cabinet shops, roofing projects, finished homes, and events to capture original content.
Film and edit project walkthroughs, before-and-after features, testimonials, employee spotlights, and promotional campaigns.
Monitor comments, messages, inquiries, and engagement.
Maintain consistent, professional branding across every company.
Monitor trends and identify creative ways to expand our audience and attract prospective customers.
Measure content performance and adjust strategies to improve lead generation.
You must be extremely comfortable on camera.
We expect regular appearances in videos, potentially multiple times throughout the day. You should confidently speak without a script, interview employees and customers, explain services, and engage naturally with an audience.
You must be capable of independently filming, editing, and publishing professional content without relying on outside production teams for routine work.
3. DIGITAL ADVERTISING & MARKETING
We need someone with actual hands-on knowledge of digital advertising and campaign management.
Create, manage, and optimize Facebook and Instagram advertising through Meta Ads Manager.
Develop advertising campaigns for the different customer segments served by our companies.
Manage targeting, retargeting, campaign budgets, lead forms, and conversion tracking.
Understand Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, Google Analytics, and related platforms.
Develop landing pages, digital lead funnels, and conversion-focused campaigns.
Monitor advertising performance, cost per lead, and return on investment.
Test advertising creative, messaging, and audience targeting.
Identify underperforming campaigns and make necessary adjustments.
Coordinate paid advertising with organic content, email marketing, and other sales initiatives.
We want someone who knows how to turn advertising dollars into qualified leads—not simply boost Facebook posts.
4. WEBSITE MANAGEMENT, SQUARE SPACE & EMAIL MARKETING
You will oversee the marketing functionality of our company websites and digital communication systems.
Manage and update company websites, including Squarespace.
Create landing pages, project portfolios, blogs, service descriptions, and promotional content.
Improve website functionality, mobile usability, SEO, and lead conversion.
Manage Google Business Profiles and local search visibility.
Utilize Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
Develop newsletters, promotional campaigns, and automated follow-up communications through Constant Contact.
Maintain organized customer and prospect contact lists.
Implement lead-capture forms, CRM integrations, and marketing automation.
Ensure digital inquiries are routed quickly and accurately.
5. NETWORKING, EVENTS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
This is not a behind-the-desk position.
You will be a highly visible representative of our companies throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Participate in networking groups, chambers of commerce, industry associations, and community organizations.
Attend real estate functions, builder events, home tours, ribbon cuttings, trade shows, and business gatherings.
Build relationships with developers, architects, business owners, real estate professionals, and referral partners.
Represent our businesses at evening networking functions and occasional weekend events.
Identify valuable sponsorships, partnerships, and business-development opportunities.
Organize and coordinate open houses, customer appreciation events, networking functions, and promotional activities.
Follow up consistently with prospective customers and referral contacts.
Develop lasting relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
We want someone who can walk into a room full of strangers and leave with valuable relationships, new opportunities, and a plan for follow-up.
6. PUBLIC RELATIONS & BRAND AMBASSADORSHIP
You will become one of the recognizable faces and voices of our family of companies.
Serve as an on-camera spokesperson and public representative.
Host project tours, promotional videos, interviews, and company announcements.
Speak confidently with customers, business leaders, industry professionals, and community organizations.
Support public relations surrounding new projects, partnerships, acquisitions, and company expansion.
Maintain a polished, approachable, professional appearance and public presence.
Represent each company's values, services, and commitment to customer experience.
7. MULTI-COMPANY MANAGEMENT & ACQUISITIONS
Our organization is growing, and this position will grow with it.
Learn the services, operations, customers, and competitive advantages of every company.
Create individual marketing plans and lead-generation strategies for each business.
Maintain consistent brand standards while protecting the identity of each company.
Coordinate campaigns, advertising, and marketing resources across multiple brands.
Support branding, marketing launches, and communications for newly acquired businesses.
Identify opportunities for shared marketing resources and cross-company referrals.
Develop scalable processes that can support additional companies.
Work directly with executive leadership on future growth initiatives.
As our family of companies expands, so will the scope and opportunity of this position.
8. ACCOUNTABILITY & PERFORMANCE
We expect marketing to produce measurable results.
Establish lead-generation goals and performance indicators for each company.
Track inquiries, advertising results, appointments, conversions, and sales opportunities.
Provide weekly performance reports to leadership.
Monitor marketing expenditures and campaign effectiveness.
Identify problems and implement solutions.
Recommend improvements supported by actual performance data.
Continuously refine strategies to increase qualified leads and business growth.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:
Ideally 5+ years of proven experience in sales, marketing, business development, or related disciplines.
Demonstrated success generating qualified leads and measurable business growth.
Strong knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and digital marketing.
Hands-on proficiency with Meta Ads Manager and paid social advertising.
Experience managing Squarespace or comparable websites.
Experience with Constant Contact or similar email marketing systems.
Knowledge of SEO, Google Ads, analytics, and campaign performance.
Ability to independently film, edit, and publish professional video content.
Exceptional communication, networking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Confidence appearing regularly on camera and speaking publicly.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Exceptional initiative, responsiveness, accountability, and follow-through.
Professional appearance and sound judgment.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the Kansas City area.
Flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, and special events.
Preferred Experience:
Luxury homebuilding, construction, roofing, cabinetry, remodeling, or real estate marketing.
Established Kansas City business and industry relationships.
Marketing management across multiple companies.
CRM platforms, lead automation, and sales pipelines.
Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, or similar creative tools.
AI-powered marketing and content production tools.
Business acquisitions, brand launches, or organizational expansion.
WORK ETHIC & EXPECTATIONS
This is not a conventional 9-to-5 marketing position.
Our businesses operate in fast-moving industries where opportunities do not always arise during traditional office hours.
Construction schedules change. Customers inquire in the evenings. Networking functions take place after hours. Special events sometimes occur on weekends.
We need someone who understands and embraces this environment.
You should expect a demanding, highly active position involving regular travel, constant communication, multiple simultaneous priorities, frequent on-camera appearances, and direct accountability to company leadership.
You must be self-motivated, responsive, organized, and comfortable making decisions independently.
We expect someone who identifies opportunities, acts with urgency, and consistently follows through.
We are not looking for someone who watches the clock. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the outcome.

Target Total Annual Compensation: $100,000–$150,000+

We believe outstanding performance deserves outstanding compensation.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive base salary based on experience, qualifications, demonstrated capabilities, and proven results.
Additional performance-based compensation will be designed to reward meaningful lead generation, business development, and company growth.
Compensation opportunities include:

If you believe your income should reflect the value you create, we want to talk to you.
WHO WILL SUCCEED?

Are confident on camera and comfortable speaking publicly.
Don't hesitate to make calls, pursue opportunities, or ask for business.
Work independently without constant supervision.
Manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail.
Recognize opportunities and act quickly.
Take pride in producing professional, high-quality work.
Welcome accountability and measurable performance expectations.
Want to grow professionally and financially.
We want someone who wants to help build companies—not simply hold a job.

You prefer a rigid schedule without occasional evening or weekend commitments.
You enjoy marketing but have little interest in sales or lead generation.
You dislike networking or approaching prospective customers.
You require constant supervision.
You struggle with multiple responsibilities and changing priorities.
You believe marketing success is measured only by likes, followers, or impressions.
