After decades spent leading projects, managing teams, solving complex construction challenges, developing properties, and serving clients throughout the Kansas City region and beyond, Samuel Smith, Zeke Persson, Joshua Limback, and Scott Grant recognized an opportunity to approach custom home building differently.

Together, they bring more than 50 years of combined experience in construction management, leadership, development, and client service. Throughout their careers, they have been involved in the construction and development of hundreds of homes and projects, earning numerous Gold and Silver Awards from the Kansas City Home Builders Association and building reputations centered on integrity, accountability, craftsmanship, and results.

But the experience behind Advus Builders also revealed something important.

The custom home building industry can become so focused on the house that it loses sight of the people building it—and, more importantly, the people it is being built for.

We believe luxury should mean more than premium finishes, impressive architecture, and exceptional craftsmanship. At this level, quality should be expected. It is the client experience that should be redefined.

That means better communication. Greater transparency. Clear accountability. A process clients can understand. And a builder who remains firmly in their corner from the first conversation through the day they receive the keys.

Advus is a word we created from two ideas: Advocate + Us.

A single project can involve more than 100 subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, designers, engineers, agents, consultants, craftsmen, and other professionals. Each plays an important role, but someone must stand at the center of that process representing the homeowner and keeping everyone moving toward the same vision.
